What Is Facade Cleaning?

The facade usually refers to the front part of the building, specifically by the entrance.

Facades can be made from various materials, including glass, stone, wood and metal.

Our façade cleaning services safely and successfully remove dirt, grime and stains, which – if left untreated – can cause a facade to fade in colour, impacting the building’s overall appearance.

Why Is Facade Cleaning Important?

From purely an aesthetic point of view, a fresh-looking facade can make a building seem warmer and more hospitable.

In addition to creating an excellent first impression, regular façade cleaning will also ensure your building remains safe for guests. Like all parts of a building, it’s likely that your façade will fall subject to structural deterioration and ever-changing weather conditions.

And if you rent your property, you may find that your rental agreement states you must maintain the exterior of the building. In this case, it is essential that you keep this part of the property clean and safe.

How Do We Carry Out Our Facade Cleaning Services?

For the vast majority of facade cleaning jobs, Vinci Response uses either DOFF or TORIK Cleaning Systems.

The steam-based tools provide the option of chemical-free cleaning with optimal results.

Superheated water is pumped through the system and released through a ceramic nozzle. It is non-abrasive and non-toxic so it won’t cause any further damage to properties.

Rope Access Cleaning

We also offer Rope Access Cleaning, which can help with hard-to-reach areas.

This enables us to carry out high-level professional cleaning for many services, including:

Frequently Asked Questions About External Facade Cleaning

Do you use any harsh chemicals to clean?

We always try to use chemical-free cleaning methods for the majority of our facade cleaning work. Our technicians use the DOFF or TORIK cleaning systems, which utilise superheated water to remove grime, moss, algae, fungi and many other types of soiling quickly and delicately. However, for some facade cleaning projects, chemicals may be required. Any that we do use will be environmentally friendly. Our technicians will advise if alternative methods have to be used during the initial site visit.

Should I get my building facade professionally cleaned?

Getting a building’s facade professionally cleaned is advisable. Hiring experts like Vinci Response Services means you won’t have to worry about risking your safety or damaging the outside of your building. You’ll also likely save yourself time and money in the long term.

Are there any safety risks associated with your process?

As with any restorative and cleaning work, we follow standard health and safety procedures. For example, electrical outlets will need to be sealed as our two main processes utilise water. All will be explained by a senior surveyor who will visit your building and create a risk assessment method statement (often referred to as RAMS). All of our technicians are fully compliant. They will clean your building’s facade with the full required personal protection equipment (PPE), in line with the RAMS produced by the senior surveyor. And of course, if our technicians use rope access cleaning methods, they all hold IRATA and CSCS qualifications.
