Overview

Vinci Response is seeking a diligent and customer-focused Claims Handler to join its Portsmouth-based operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing insurance-related claims from first notification through to resolution, ensuring outcomes that are fair, compliant, and aligned with service level agreements. This role requires strong administrative capability, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively with multiple stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of claims from initial notification through to settlement or closure.
  • Accurately assess claim validity in line with policy terms, conditions, and applicable legislation.
  • Gather, review, and evaluate supporting documentation, statements, and evidence.
  • Liaise with policyholders, insurers, loss adjusters, suppliers, and third parties to progress claims efficiently.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date case records on internal claims management systems.
  • Ensure all claims are handled in accordance with internal procedures, regulatory requirements, and data protection standards.
  • Identify potential fraud indicators and escalate concerns in line with company protocols.
  • Meet individual and team performance targets relating to turnaround times, quality, and customer satisfaction.
  • Provide clear, professional communication to customers, both written and verbal, throughout the claims lifecycle.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives within the claims function.

Skills and Experience

Essential:

  • Previous experience in a claims handling, insurance administration, or customer service role.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Confident written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and claims or case management systems.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Desirable:

  • Experience within property, motor, liability, or commercial claims environments.
  • Knowledge of FCA regulations and insurance industry best practices.
  • Experience handling complex or disputed claims.
  • Relevant insurance qualifications and willingness to work towards them.
